Puff Pastry Cherry Crostata


This cherry crostata, or galette, is a rustic and elegant dessert featuring the flavors of cherry pie enveloped in a flaky, buttery puff pastry crust, offering a delightful balance of sweetness and tartness.


1/2 (17.3 ounce) package frozen puff pastry sheets, thawed 1 pound cherries, pitted and halved 2 tablespoons brown sugar 1 tablespoon cornstarch 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon


1/2 teaspoon almond extract 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 large egg, beaten 1 tablespoon water 1 tablespoon turbinado sugar, or to taste 1 tablespoon orange marmalade (optional)

Step 1

Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Roll Out Pastry: Roll the thawed puff pastry sheet into a round shape on a floured surface and transfer it to the baking sheet.
